Biography

Dr. Roberta Bonì is a researcher in Engineering Geology and lecturer of Geomorphology and soil conservation at the Dept. of Pure and Applied Sciences, University of Urbino "Carlo Bo" (Italy). Her expertise is related to (1) the development of methodologies for the geological interpretation of satellite radar interferometric (SAR) data for natural and human-induced hazards such as land subsidence, landslides, and swelling shrinkage of clayey soils, (2) the development of methodologies for subsoil engineering geological models to support geohazard assessment; (3) the estimation of hydrogeological parameters and modeling of ground motion due to groundwater level changes. Her research is performed using a multi-disciplinary approach including geological, hydrogeological, geotechnical, and earth observation (EO) data to support sustainable land and water management. She holds a Ph.D. in Earth and Environmental Sciences in 2016, from the University of Pavia (Italy), and she received an Excellence research fellowship (2019-2021) from UniPV. She has been involved as Responsible Research and Innovation Manager and team member of international projects focused on land subsidence studies, including programs funded by the European Union, and the UNESCO International Geoscience Programme (IGCP).
