Biography

Scott A. MacKenzie is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of California, Davis. His research studies the effects of institutional rules and arrangements on political decision-making and representation. His recent work examines citizen decision-making in low-information environments, including elections for state and local offices, and ballot measures. His work has been published in journals such as the American Journal of Political Science, Election Law Journal, Journal of Politics, Journal of Urban Affairs, Political Research Quarterly and Urban Affairs Review. MacKenzie received his Ph. D. from the University of California, San Diego in 2009, and his M.P.P. from the University of Chicago in 2001. He currently teaches courses on state and local politics and policymaking, and graduate courses on American politics and political methodology.
